Op-Ed – Thoughts on Seasons

“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.”

-Emily Bronte

As you may have been already able to tell, fall is my favorite season for countless reasons. One great thing about fall is that a fair amount of my family’s birthdays occur in the fall. I just love coming together with my family to celebrate and the little things in life. Also, when autumn comes, that means the back-to-school season is upon us! While some students may dread this time of year, I bask in it. I make sure to soak up every minute buying new school clothes and supplies and seeing all of my friends that I haven’t had a chance to see all summer. Additionally, autumn brings back all of the warm drinks, cozy sweaters, and halloween fun! What more could a girl ask for?

On a more pessimistic note, I strongly dislike summer! For some reason, I just don’t like anything about it. The sticky and sweaty weather, hot sand, tank tops, body odor; it’s just NOT a good combination!

Finally, yes, different seasons do make me think and act differently. For example, in the season of winter, I feel extremely stressed and it is hard to do activities that I actually enjoy. Whether this is due to all of the school work I have over Winter break, or that I am just so anxious for Christmas to arrive, I really dislike the season of winter.
