On August 24th, 2013, Faison held its annual Back to School Block Party. The block party consisted of 24 tables for all the community organizations including Westinghouse High School and Lincoln Elementary and the Pittsburgh Promise. There were tables also set up for face painting that overlooked the blowup bouncy house set up in the field. Upon entering the block party, one had to register and was handed tickets to get food and also enter the photo booth. The food consisted of icies, popcorn, cotton candy, water, hamburgers and hotdogs. The Lighthouse Project’s musical group Profound Myndz and a group of girls from Obama each performed a couple of their original songs.
