Jeremy Gilley is truly a visionary. Gilley envisions a world where for just one day the hate stops. In 1998 Jeremy Gilley started an organization known as Peace One Day. Peace One Day’s original goal was to get the United Nations to recognize one day as a global day for peace. After three long years they finally achieved their goal on September 7th 2001. A ceremony honoring his achievement and announcing the day to the world was planned for the morning of September 11, but the ceremony was postponed do to the violent and horrific travesties committed that very morning. September 21st, or Peace Day, was quickly over shadowed by the 9/11 attacks. Although he suffered this huge set back, Gilley never gave up.He continued to fight for his cause, but he couldn’t do it on his own. He was very fortunate to find some help in two unexpected sources– Angelina Jolie and Jude Law. Both stars used their power and influence to get the people involved and participating in Peace Day.
